One day after a southern storm, Joy hopped on her mountain bike and ended up covered with red clay mud from the heart of Alabama. Joy's partner, Martin, became intrigued with the clay and at the same time an idea was sparked. Because of his background in chemistry and interest in the environment, he began experimenting with the idea of dyeing t-shirts with natural clay. It worked brilliantly! An ancient and natural dyeing process was revived, combining clays of different colours with natural fibres such as hemp and organic cotton.
